ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION CONDITION REPORT (EICR)

EICR REPORTS

An Electrical Installation Condition Report (or EICR for short) identifies any damage, deterioration, defects and/or conditions that may be a danger. The purpose of an EICR is to determine whether the installation is in a satisfactory condition for continued service. It’s essentially a formal document that is produced following the assessment which homeowners often ask for, or obtain as part of a house sale.

There are many reasons why a householder might request an Electrical Installation Condition Report. One of the more common reasons is in rented accommodation where an EICR is the most straightforward and least time-consuming method of proving an electrical installation is safe.

An EICR is also recommended in all domestic homes every 10 years (5 for privately rented properties) to check the condition of the electrical installation and ensure there is no deterioration. The friendly and knowledgeable team here at E Electrical are professionally trained and have over 30 years of experience. We are able to complete an EICR assessment on your domestic or commercial property. Typically, an EICR will take around 3-4 hours to complete, depending on the size of the property and the number of circuits requiring testing.
